WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

As a newly formed business, Digital Solutions & Client Insights (DSCI) is designed to work across the front office to fundamentally change the way RBC Capital Markets conducts business, organizing around three driving themes: (i) strengthen client focus (ii) foster innovation and, (iii) create scale.
The Digital Platform and Analytics team is a newly formed team within the DSCI business unit. The vision for the team is to deliver the future of RBC’s digital platform and ecosystem; a centralized and connected platform for our global markets service offerings to our clients. As an AI Engineer, you will work with the Platform AI team to help define and implement AI models with the goal of driving client engagement and optimizing content generation within the platform. You will help discover, frame, and shape open-ended business problems as well as formulate them as AI problems and implement technical solutions to solve them.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Apply unconventional and innovative machine learning techniques to solve cutting-edge business problems
  • Use your critical thinking and problem solving skills to improve the performance of reinforcement learning algorithms and integrate AI in client-focused applications
  • Develop key support systems to help train, and explain the actions of our reinforcement learning algorithms
  • Collaborate with traders and subject matter experts across the trade floor
  • Be challenged to think critically within a collaborative team working on Canada’s largest trade floor

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

 Must have:

  • Creative and novel problem solving approach
  • Programming experience in machine learning framework (Python preferred)
  • Proficiency in optimization and Bayesian statistics
  • Interest in developing machine learning models
  • Strong desire to be part of a team and excellent communication skills

Nice-to-have:
•    Experience in Capital Markets
•    Track record of producing or supporting code with production-level performance requirements
