We are currently looking to hire a Co-op Student, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to join our Corporate Human Resources Team.We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a team environment. As the ideal candidate you are organized, service oriented and possess strong communication skills both written and verbal. You are passionate about diversity and excited about supporting an inclusive and welcoming workplace.

Accountabilities:
As the Co-op Student, DEI you will play a significant role in supporting Emera’s DEI team. Key responsibilities include:

    • Support Emera’s Director, DEI with implementing a corporate DEI strategy and assisting affiliated businesses with their DEI plans.
    • Provide research and analysis support on DEI trends and best practices.
    • Develop content and material for DEI-related training and various internal communications.
    • Assist in the compilation and analysis of DEI-related data.
    • Participate in DEI projects as needed including working with other teams (e.g. Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, Employee Services and Corporate Communications). and external stakeholders & community groups.
    • Providing general overall administrative support and coordination to the team.

You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

Skills, Capabilities, Education and Experience:
As the ideal candidate you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and possess or are working towards the desired skills and experience listed below:

  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be curious and inclusive in nature, is customer focused and works well in a team environment;
  • Strong technology and writing skills are required in addition to a strong attention to detail, pro-activeness, and ability to multitask;
  • Entering into second or third co-op term of University degree with a focus on HR or Psychology would be considered an asset.
