Who we are: Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s IWIL program, CEWIL has established the iHub to provide $16.2 million in funding to post-secondary institutions to support our initiative. CEWIL Canada partners with post-secondary institutions, community members, employers, governments and student organizations to champion work-integrated learning (WIL). We are an association that has been in operations for almost 50 years and continues to evolve with the times! We represent over 1400 members, from over 120 organizations and growing! Who you are: CEWIL Canada is looking for a dynamic, bilingual communications and PR student to support our team as we provide grant funding that advances innovative work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences across Canada. You are a creative soul, a critical thinker, a problem-solver by nature, a little gritty and love discovering a new trends!

What you will do: You will support CEWIL’s Innovation Hub (iHub) project, communications strategy, website, social media, story telling and PR.  The primary responsibility is supporting the iHub team to create interesting and original content related to the iHub stories and resources in French and English. We want to use our qualitative and quantitative data, stories, and resources to continue our leadership position in quality WIL in Canada. This position will mean thinking strategically about how information is shared across multiple stakeholders in an engaging and clear way.

We’re looking for a superstar who is ready for a challenge, which has the opportunity to create a legacy of WIL in Canada! Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Help develop and extend our communications strategy online and offline,
  • Help creating press releases, media advisories, blogs and external facing communications,
  • Write content for CEWIL’s website in collaboration with the iHub Team,
  • Support in translating English content to French,
  • Produce exciting and engaging content of our project activities,
  • Feed social media channels with all popular formats (text, images, videos and stories),
  • Help to build a resource community and manage community feedback,
  • Analyze target audiences and tailor output accordingly,
  • Monitor success of your communications output as well as the public responses,
  • Researching, preparing fact-checking, editing, and producing professional media and communications materials for various audiences and ensuring their timely dissemination,
  • Supporting, planning and coordinating media-related event,
  • Other exciting projects as they emerge.

Why you:
You have the following qualifications, skills, talents and capabilities:

  • We are looking for a senior college or university student with at least one co-op or work experience under their belt (or other relevant work or life experience).
  • Mastery of the French and English languages.
  • Creativity is your middle name.
  • Social media wizardry.
  • Strong understanding of common communications tools and platforms.
  • An excellent communicator (written, verbal and visual).
  • Ability to work autonomously but also within the goals of our team.
  • Ability to work as part of high performing team under tight timelines.
  • Tech savvy and creative-oriented mindset.
  • Able to see the big picture but have an eye for small details.

And it would be great if you also had the following:

  • Experience working with and designing websites would be nice.
  • Video editing experience would be great but not mandatory.

Where you would do the work:

  • Remotely from your own location, CEWIL is a national organization and work from anywhere in Canada is possible.
