Here’s What Some Past Co-op Students Had to Say About Us

Working at Cape Breton University was the best learning experience I could have asked for. During my four months as a Marketing and Communications Intern, I had the opportunity to apply the knowledge I learned in the classroom. I wrote multiple press releases, helped run a promotional campaign and updated the CBU website. The Marketing and Communications team was very welcoming and made me feel like I was part of the team right away! They offered the right amount of support, yet gave me the perfect amount of independence to allow me to flourish. I would strongly recommend completing a co-op at CBU, it was by far the best four months of my life! ~Jenna MacQueen, BPR Co-op student (MSVU)

Working for MarComm at CBU was a great experience. It’s a department filled with professionals who care about your learning and are always there to share their knowledge. I gained so much great practical experience, and got the chance to learn new things that I can now use to expand my resume. In this co-op there is plenty of opportunity for you to contribute your personal flavour to the workplace, and it’s not hard to get comfortable in the environment and feel like a part of the team. This work term helped build my confidence as a growing professional in the workplace. ~Jillian MacDonald, BPR Co-op student (MSVU)

“Spending four months in the Marketing and Communications department was such an important experience for my future. I learned new skills, had the opportunity to run my own projects, met so many new people and caught a real glimpse of ‘behind the scenes’ life at CBU. As a student, I really felt like I was a part of the team and that my opinion was valued. I’m proud to graduate from CBU with real life job experience that my internship provided me and would recommend the department to any student interested in a future in marketing and communications! “~ Elizabeth Arsenault, BBA Co-op Student (CBU)

“I can’t say enough about my four months here at CBU. I was really made to feel like part of the team, and was included in a variety of tasks including event planning and promotion, media relations, and writing and editing for the University website. It has been the best co-op that I’ve had and I’m so glad I chose to come to CBU. The entire Communications team puts a trust in you, and helps you achieve goals and succeed beyond measure.” ~ Maia Greig, BPR Grad (MSVU)
