CBU President David Dingwall Appointed Honorary Colonel

Cape Breton University President and Vice-Chancellor, David C. Dingwall, has recently been appointed as the Honorary Colonel of the Cape Breton Highlanders. The honour was bestowed upon President Dingwall this July.

The practice of honorary regimental appointments in Canada dates back more than a century, with representatives serving as a link between the community and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The Honorary is seen to be the guardian of Regimental traditions and history.

In his role, President Dingwall will serve as an advocate for the Regiment and the CAF, strengthening the military’s bond with the community. “It is an honour and a privilege to serve and support the Canadian Armed Forces in this way,” says President Dingwall. “I look forward to fulfilling my role as Honorary Colonel with great pride.”
