CBU CAPERS to Host 2026 ACHA Women’s Hockey Championship at the Kehoe Forum

Cape Breton University (CBU) is proud to announce that the CAPERS will host the 2026 Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Women’s Hockey Championship from March 6–8, 2026. This year’s tournament marks a historic milestone as it moves to the CAPERS’ new home the Kehoe Forum at Cape Breton University, the first arena in Canada dedicated to women’s hockey and para-hockey.

The tournament will bring together talent from across the region featuring the CBU CAPERS, the Acadia Axewomen and the Holland College Hurricanes.

“Hosting the ACHA Championship at the Kehoe Forum is a massive step forward for our program,” says Derrick Hayes, Head Coach of the CBU CAPERS. “As the ‘Home of Women’s Hockey,’ this facility gives our athletes the stage they deserve. We’ve been working toward this all season and having the community behind us in our own rink is going to make for an incredible tournament.”

2026 Tournament Schedule:

  • Friday, March 6: 7:00 PM – CBU vs. Acadia
  • Saturday, March 7: 9:00 AM – Holland College vs. Acadia
  • Saturday, March 7: 7:00 PM – CBU vs. Holland College
  • Sunday, March 8: 8:00 AM – Semi-Final (2nd vs. 3rd)
  • Sunday, March 8: 1:00 PM – Championship Game

Ticket Information: Admission is available at the door for all spectators.

  • Weekend Pass (5 Games): $15.00
  • Individual Game Ticket: $5.00
  • Children under 12: Free if wearing a minor hockey jersey
