I am writing today to inform you about an upcoming realignment within our Finance Office as part of our institutional change management and succession planning initiatives. This has been prompted by Glenn MacDonald’s retirement after serving our institution for more than 30 years.
We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Campbell will be joining our team as the new Director of Finance effective September 1, 2025. Jennifer brings a wealth of experience and financial leadership to support CBU’s strategic goals and fiscal stewardship. She has more than 20 years of financial management experience and has previously served in leadership positions with Grant Thornton and, most recently, the Cape Breton Regional Municipality as its Chief Financial Officer since 2017. She has a proven track record of driving organizational effectiveness, managing in an environment of constrained resources, and implementing strategic initiatives for large organizations.
Additionally, as part of our succession planning initiative, MaryBeth MacDonald will take on additional duties and an elevated role within the Finance Office as part of a staged realignment of CBU’s financial management responsibilities.
These changes go into effect as of September 2, and aim to strengthen our Finance team, enhance service delivery, and support the long-term success of our institution. Please join me in welcoming Jennifer and congratulating MaryBeth on this well-deserved opportunity.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.
