This event will be led by Shirley Christmas, a Mi’kmaw elder from the community of Membertou. Shirley is a poet and playwright whose writings, spiritual in nature, focus on our relationship with Mother Earth, the environmental problems cause by our actions and inactions and the importance of treating the planet with respect.
Shirley joined Unama’ki College in 2022 as our Kisiku on Campus and is currently studying creative writing at Cape Breton University.
Tea and light refreshments will be served.
