Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run

Presented by Cape Breton Fiddlers Marathon and Cape Breton University

Activities start at 9:30 am, the Youth Run begins at 10:00 am. The Tiny Tot Trot (preschool-aged children) begins at 9:30 am.


Distance: School-aged participants can choose between two distances, 2KM or 4KM.

T-Shirts & Bibs: Register by April 24 to secure a t-shirt.  If you register online before April 24, we will make every effort to deliver the t-shirt and bib to your school (in CBRM) a few days before the Youth Run. Otherwise, they can be picked up at Cape Breton Health and Recreation Complex (CBU) the morning of the run on Sunday, June 2nd between 8 and 9 am.

Please note, if you register after April 24, a shirt is not guaranteed. T-shirts MUST be the outermost layer of clothing and bibs must be worn on the front of the shirt.

Safety and Security: Run organizers, police, security and volunteers will be on the course to ensure participant’s safety. One parent/guardian can accompany younger runners on the course. No dogs, scooters, skateboards or bikes are permitted on the course. Strollers are permitted but must stay to the right at all times.

Post-run Procedure and Children Gathering Points: Parents/guardians and runners are encouraged to arrange a meet-up spot to reunite after the run. Volunteers will be wearing lime green shirts and can assist with reuniting runners and parents. Please ensure a parent/guardian/adult’s contact information is written on the back of the child’s bib so that our volunteers can contact you if needed.

Registration: $10 which includes a t-shirt, bib, medal and post-run snack. Race Roster charges an online processing fee of $3.09. Register for the 2024 Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run online at:

Parking: Parking at Cape Breton University will be free on Sunday, June 2nd for the Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run. Please consider carpooling to avoid traffic congestion.
