Welcome to the IEC

The CBU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (IEC) is an inspiring community space where the diverse students of CBU’s student body can meet to brainstorm, learn, collaborate and work together. The IEC hosts creative programming & events providing unique learning opportunities, encouraging spontaneous discussions among CBU students, faculty, and industry innovators & mentors.

Island Sandbox

The Island Sandbox is a member of the Nova Scotia Sandbox community. Island Sandbox provides space for various student groups from Cape Breton University and NSCC Marconi Campus to experiment with new entrepreneurial ideas and access business mentors and other support. Island Sandbox delivers unique hands-on programming and workshops via the Island Sandbox Moodle to assist in professional and personal development. Island Sandbox facilitates the business programs available in the IEC including Design 2 Make, Enactus, Missing Lecture, Exploring Entrepreneurship, and more.

Wednesday, April 5, 2023, will be used as a make-up day for classes scheduled on a Monday.
