Virginia Gunn

Assistant Professor, Nursing

Dr. Gunn holds degrees from the University of Toronto, LSB Faculty of Nursing (PhD & MN) and Dalla Lana School of Public Health (Collaborative Doctoral Specialization in Global Health), Ryerson University (BScN), and University D. Cantemir (BA in Geography). Dr. Gunn is a Registered Nurse, with expertise in public health, acute, and long-term care. She has extended professional experiences as a health practitioner, including in leadership roles such as project lead, committee chair, board director, finance officer, and interest group co-founder. In these roles, Dr. Gunn led the development of initiatives to support health system improvement and increase the use of evidence. Expertise: Multidisciplinary education and training in quantitative, qualitative, policy analysis, and systematic data synthesis methods. Research interests include health workforce, the social determinants of health (employment, migration, and gender), and the effect of systemic factors on population health and health inequities.
