Todd Pettigrew

Professor

Todd Pettigrew earned his PhD in English Language and Literature from the University of Waterloo in 1998. He joined the faculty of CBU (then UCCB) in 2000 and since then has taught a wide range of courses in English and Drama, including Shakespeare, History of the English Language, Detective Fiction, and Play Production. His research focuses on the interplay of literature, culture, and history in the English Renaissance. In addition to book chapters, notes, and articles, he is the author of the award-winning monograph Shakespeare and the Practice of Physic (Delaware, 2007), the senior editor of The Major Works of John Cotta (Brill, 2019), and the editor of The Broadview Edition of Francis Beaumont’s The Knight of the Burning Pestle (2023). He is active in the community as a musician, actor, and writer.
