Tanya moved to Cape Breton in 2010, after spending her early career gaining diverse work and life experience which included university recruitment, corporate sales, teaching ESL in Japan, and project administration with the Namibia Training Authority. Her enthusiasm about education and supporting local development led to her professional involvement on many projects in economic and community development. In 2013, she pursued an MBA in Community Economic Development at CBU and graduated in 2017, completing her research on MBA Education while working full-time at New Dawn, and then the Community Sector Council of NS. Tanya was the first Co-chair of the Cape Breton Social Enterprise team; a project of the Cape Breton Partnership’s Prosperity Framework and now serves on the Board of Directors of the Social Enterprise Network of Nova Scotia. Tanya spends her days working as Project Officer for CBU’s MBA in Community Economic Development and teaches an introduction to business course in the BBA program.
