Stephanie Gilbert

Assistant Professor

Dr. Stephanie Gilbert is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Management in the Shannon School of Business at Cape Breton University. Dr. Gilbert earned a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Saint Mary’s University, a Master of Science in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from Western University, and a BA (Honours) in Psychology and Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her research examines predictors of leadership effectiveness and emergence, including leaders’ own motivation. Her recent work also studies the impact of personal stressors in the workplacef. Dr. Gilbert has worked with a variety of industries including healthcare, non-profit, for-profit, and start-up businesses and she teaches in the areas of leadership and organizational behaviour. She has applied her psychological and health sciences backgrounds to design evidence-based business solutions and to develop and validate organizational assessment tools.
