Rebecca Blackie

Assistant Professor

Rebecca Blackie is a professor in the Psychology Department. She graduated with a Master’s degree in 2013 and with a PhD in 2018. Her research focuses on utilizing self-compassion as an intervention for repetitive negative thinking in social anxiety. Rebecca also conducts research in the areas of mindfulness, meditation, wellbeing, and psychometry. Her awards include scholarships from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada to support her research during her Master’s and Doctoral degrees.
