Muhammad Malik

Assistant Professor

Dr. Malik is an Assistant Professor at Cape Breton University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from Peking University, China, and an undergraduate degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK. He is a professional accountant and a member of Canada’s Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA). He has over 13 years of experience working in both academic and non-academic roles in the private and government sectors around the globe. He is a recipient of several awards and scholarships, including the ISSCAD Research Fellowship (Tencent China) and a Ph.D. Scholarship from the China International Development and Cooperation, CSC, and Peking Postgraduate scholarship. His research interests include sustainability accounting, foreign direct investment, tourism, development, and environmental economics. He has published papers in various academic journals and serves as an article editor and reviewer for multiple journals.
