Karen Kennedy

Assistant Dean of Nursing (Student Affairs)

Karen Kennedy is a Registered Nurse with diverse expertise: Medical Surgical, ICU, ER and most recently a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Dr Kennedy has earned a Doctorate of Education from Western University and is currently an Assistant Professor and Chair in the Nursing Department. Her research interests include sexual violence prevention and underreporting of sexual violence. Another area of interest is nursing curriculum development and evaluation. Dr Kennedy’s approach to research is grounded in critical theories and intersectional feminism. She has experience performing systematic reviews and uses qualitative methodologies such as Grounded Theory and Phenomenology.
