Alyssa MacDonald

Quality Assurance Officer

Alyssa MacDonald is a CBU graduate holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. From there she received her Bachelor of Education Degree and began working as a secondary teacher in Cape Breton. As someone who taught high school for five years before starting to work at CBU she knows how challenging, overwhelming, and exciting the transition to university can be for new students. Whether they are coming direct from high school, transferring from another post-secondary school, or returning to university as a mature student, they are new to CBU and she wants to be able to support them during this transition. Working as both an academic success coach and an academic advisor has allowed her to see the full scope of the student experience and to gain a better understanding of how she can best help new students here at CBU. Alyssa loves the work that she does and her favorite part of advising would have to be matching new students up with their Peer Success Coach.
