Allison Mackie

Assistant Professor

A CBU alum (Dip. Eng. ’06), Dr. Allison Mackie completed her undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering at Dalhousie University in 2008. She then attained Master of Applied Science and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering with a specialty in water treatment from Dalhousie University. Dr. Mackie worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Water Resources Studies for three years prior to joining CBU. Her research has focused on the reuse of waste materials for the treatment of industrial wastewater; however, her experience and publications encompass conventional and advanced drinking water and wastewater treatment processes as well as the detection and treatment of emerging organic contaminants such as hormones, pharmaceuticals, and cyanotoxins.
