As an IT Data Co-op Student in the Enterprise Data Office team, you will have the opportunity to work with leaders in the Retail Industry with robust learning, collaboration, and engaging experiences! You will gain valuable exposure to one of Canada’s largest grocers as we unleash our full potential by embracing emerging technologies and new digital capabilities that are reshaping the customer experience.
We believe that the best ideas come from a diverse workforce with unique perspectives and encourage our Co-op Students to be curious and innovative! During your co-op term, you will be identifying technical solutions to meet requirements and ensure the development of detailed functional, technical and operational specifications for delivery of recommended solutions. This includes researching, documenting, and modifying software and specifications throughout the development life cycle.
At Sobeys our corporate roles follow a hybrid model with an expectation to work in one of our offices three (3) days per week. We are currently offering the IT Data, Co-op Student 4-month term position is based out of our office in Stellarton, Nova Scotia

As an IT Data Co-op Student with Sobeys, you will:
- Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines, integrations, and data quality processes.
- Learn and contribute to data governance and data lifecycle management practices.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Support the team in documenting data structures, processes, and best practices.
- Participate in peer reviews and team discussions, continuously learning from feedback and experience.
- Develop your skills in data modeling, SQL, and cloud technologies through on-the-job training and mentorship.
What you have to offer:
- Exposure to or coursework in SQL, Python, or other programming/scripting languages.
- Strong analytical thinking and a curiosity for solving data problems.
- An eagerness to learn modern cloud platforms and data technologies (Azure preferred).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and willingness to ask questions and grow.
