About Our Opportunity


The Sector Development Summer Assistant will be working with Sector Development (50%) and Policy (50%) to support our daily operations.

Primary Accountabilities


The Sector Development Summer Assistant will be:


  • Working as part of a team of professionals to help build the Nova Scotia agriculture industry.
  • Exploring and learning about Sector Development, including researching activities on new agriculture products.
  • Helping with coordination of Minister of Agriculture’s conference, which will explore how industry, government, and next generation thinkers in agriculture can work together to embrace change and cultivate success.
  • Working with employee engagement activities, records management, and research.


You may also have the opportunity to learn about other divisions in the department of Agriculture.

Qualifications and Experience


To be successful candidate, you have complete a minimum of Grade 10, are enrolled in high school or a post-secondary institute and will be returning to school in Fall 2022 or next applicable semester.

You self-identify as African Nova Scotian.

Working Conditions


You will need to be able to work from 8:00 AM to 4:30PM, Monday to Friday.

You will be working in a team setting, in-person, with staff in our Bible Hill office.

Pay Grade:  HOURLY

Salary Range:  $14.47 – $27.30 Hourly
