Episode 4 – Richmond Artists Alliance
Elaine Mandrona and Archie Nadon, founders of the Richmond Artists Alliance and The Scrape magazine, are based in Isle Madame, in Richmond County, Unama’ki / Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. In this episode they sit down with host, Greg Davies, to discuss the initiatives they’ve brought to the region, why they felt compelled to do so, and what lies ahead for the RAA. Episode 5 – Regional Galleries
Dr. Andrea Terry, Director and Curator of the StFX Art Gallery at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish (Nova Scotia) joins host, Greg Davies, in the studio. Together they explore what it is that defines the regional art gallery, how university art galleries differ from other public art spaces without academic affiliation and how such galleries support artists and the communities they serve. Along the way they look at some of the initiatives that the StFX Art Gallery has introduced to the region, as well as some of the rewards that come with curating its exhibitions and programming.
