Getting Started

Accessing services

If you’d like to explore research opportunities or inquire about establishing a partnership, start by getting in touch with us. We’ll discuss your ideas and short- and long-term requirements to determine the right path for you:

• If you’re an industry partner, we’ll spend time discussing your needs, exploring additional opportunities and identifying the experts and funding programs that match your goals.
• If you’re a faculty member, we’ll examine your goals and suggest various options that can help move your individual research mandate forward.

Choosing the right funding

When you work with the Research team, you’ll have access to a variety of funding opportunities. Once the team has reviewed your goals and identified an opportunity, we’ll find a funding match that is best for you. The research team can also make the most of your research investments by matching programs and leveraging contributions to the research programs.

Funding options for organizations: If you’re looking for expertise to support your project, you could benefit from the range of funding programs mandated to facilitate university-industry partnerships, including:

• National Research Council (NRC) / Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP)
• Mitacs
• Various NSERC programs
Invest Nova Scotia (formerly Innovacorp and Nova Scotia Business Inc.)

Many of the early stage programs require no cash matching.
