Schedule: Temporary Full-Time, 5 days per week

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Process Engineer (Summer Student) to join our growing team and assist in the refinement and standardization of our operational policies and procedures. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful healthcare delivery while gaining real-world experience in systems analysis, quality control, and organizational process development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of Veterans For Healing’s existing Standard Operating Policies and Procedures (SOPPs)
  • Analyze current processes for consistency, efficiency, regulatory compliance (e.g., Health Canada), and clarity
  • Collaborate with department heads and leadership/executive team to gather input and map out workflows
  • Create diagrams, process flows, and documentation using tools and software
  • Recommend revisions and improvements to SOPPs, organizational communication, supply channel efficiencies, reports, reporting structures, and create change logs
  • Assist in transitioning finalized documents to a live document management system (e.g., Google Drive/Docs)
  • Present findings and refined documents to executive leadership
  • Maintain version control and ensure accessibility of up-to-date procedures for staff

Qualifications

  • Currently enrollment in CBU’s Engineering program.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools, document formatting, and change management
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance, or regulatory frameworks is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and interest in healthcare innovation
