First-Year Advising Centre
For students starting in January 2019:
All students must be advised in order to register for their courses. If you have not completed your academic advising please see the char below to find your contact person.
Please Note: If you have not completed your academic advising by December 18, 2018 you will need to wait until January 2, 2019 when CBU reopens to complete your advising and registration.

New students with no transfer credits must receive academic advising from an advisor in the First-Year Advising Centre before registering for courses.
The First-Year Advising Centre’s hours are as follows:
- May 1 – June 21: Mondays – Thursdays from 2-6pm
- June 26 – Aug. 30: Tuesdays – Thursdays from 9am – 4pm
Appointments last approximately 1.5 hours and include the following steps:
Step 1: Meeting with an academic advisor, where you will review your program requirements and options and select your courses.
Step 2: Meeting with our Academic Success Coach, where you can discuss your expectations, any concerns you may have, available supports, and how to best prepare for the start of classes.
Step 3: Meeting with a First-Year Advising Centre student employee, where you will learn how to create your class schedule, set up your online student account and access your CBU email, and register for classes.
