Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Engineering Technologist will work closely with the Senior Structural Engineers and will be responsible for the preparation of drawings and reports relating to a variety of structural projects including buildings, marine and industrial projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD is a requirement for the job.
Preparing detailed structural drawings;
� Preparing designs and specifications;
� Completing site inspections during construction and prepare inspection reports;
� Meet with architects/owners/clients as required to coordinate project design;
� Visit sites for renovations of existing structures as required to take field measurements;
� Coordinate projects with all other project disciplines;
� Review incoming models and/or drawings from architects & adjust structural model as required;
� Quantity take offs;
� Review shop drawings.
The successful candidate will possess a college diploma in Engineering Technology, priority will be given to civil and mechanical technologists.
RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY
� Applied knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada; Parts 3, 5 and 9;
� Understanding National Master Specifications (NMS). Ability to work on multiple assignments and produce high quality/high volume assignments on budget and on schedule;
� Construction contract administration and field inspection.
