We are currently seeking a Biostatistician/Epidemiologist to be part of our Data Analytics & Evidence Synthesis Research Team at either our Sydney, Nova Scotia or Burlington, Ontario office. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting our well established Canadian and global health economic and market access services for medical device and pharmaceutical products.

- Minimum of an undergraduate degree, preferably in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Related field
- PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Epidemiology preferred
- Preference may be given to new graduates who are eligible for Nova Scotia’s Innovate to Opportunity and Graduate to Opportunity Programs
- Strong basis in fundamental statistical concepts and methods
- Practical experience in the application of statistics in health technology appraisal, health economics, outcomes research or clinical data analysis preferred.
- Strong basis in fundamental statistical concepts and methods and familiarity with techniques such as development of meta-analysis, indirect comparisons, network meta-analysis, predictive equations, survival analysis (including parametric methods), longitudinal data analysis, and other hierarchical analysis techniques, etc.
- Strong statistical programming skills with standard software, including R, WinBUGS/OpenBUGS, SAS, and/or STATA.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to communicate effectively (spoken and written), in non-technical terms, with project team members and clients.
- Work well in a team as well as independently, and be able to take leadership role with regard to methodological elements in projects.
The successful candidate will be part of multi-disciplinary research teams to provide statistical expertise and methodological leadership at all stages of projects from planning to communication.
