CO-OP: Promotions Assistant

Requirements

During the tourism season (May-October), Parks Canada welcomes thousands of visitors to enjoy the beauty and historical significance of its national parks and national historic sites across the country. The Mainland Nova Scotia field unit manages several national historic sites and a national park. Working as part of the Promotions and Communications team, the Promotions Assistant student will have the opportunity to experience our natural and historic treasures alongside fellow Canadians and visitors from around the world.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with the public
  • Experience working or volunteering at special events
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in writing communications and/or promotions material

Responsibilities

Seeking a highly motivated individual with strong communications and organizational skills to help the Promotions Officers in promoting visitation to the Parks Canada sites in Mainland NS. Duties will include assistance with the development of promotional communications for online and traditional media, coordinate the ongoing fulfilment of promotional literature across the province, assist and help coordinate promotion of on-site and off-site special events including mascot appearances and interacting with the public, providing general office support, assist with evaluation reporting and other duties as directed.
