Prerequisites:  Registered as a BBA student at CBU with two (2) years of studies completed.  Preference may be given to students pursuing a BBA degree specializing in Accounting.

Responsibilities

Job Description and Duties

Collections Contact Officer

Within the Collections and Verification Branch, you will be responsible for duties that include:

  • Administration of the Income Tax Act for the collection of outstanding accounts receivable
  • Locating non-compliant taxpayers and contacting taxpayers and their representatives
  • Requesting of information and information returns
  • This will include contacting clients by phone

Application Details

Salary Range: Pursuant to CRA’s Student Rates of Pay $16.49 – $21.64 per hour (dependent upon education and experience)

Location:                      Nova Scotia Tax Services Office – 47 Dorchester Street, Sydney, Nova Scotia OR Nova Scotia Tax Services Office – 100-145 Hobsons Lake Drive, Halifax NS

This process may be used to staff student positions in Halifax and Sydney.  Candidates must specify their preferred location of employment.  As a result, if you are appointed from this process, we will expect you to relocate to the Site you indicated as your preferred location.  You will have to pay for any relocation costs if you are appointed from this process.

Assessment:

Assessment will take place at the NS TSO (Sydney Site only).  You may be assessed using one or more of the following tools:

  • Interview(s)
  • Reference check(s)
  • Written examination(s)

Conditions of Employment:

  • Security Clearance: Reliability Status.

Appointment Criteria:

This process may be used to staff similar positions within the Collections and Verification Branch.
