Requirements

Job Title: Student Library Ambassador

Department: Library

Supervisor: Brenda O’Flaherty, Manager, Access Services and Library staff

Job Description:
The student library ambassador will work with the Library to assist in providing activities for students to engage in conversations with the Library. The students will advocate for the perspectives of the student library user, and increase awareness of library resources and services to the campus community. The library ambassador will engage students, parents, faculty and staff at campus and Library events.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Cape Breton University Library and its services
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work nights and weekends

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between students and Library staff
  • Provide feedback on Library services and suggestions for improvements
  • Participate in meetings and focus groups
  • Promote library resources, services, workshops and events on campus
  • Assist in the planning, publicizing and implementation of Library and campus events
  • Assist in staffing tables at various events throughout campus
  • Create promotional material

End Date: April 2018

Hours: All positions are part-time, hours TBD
