Job/Project Description: Research Assistant:  Ethical Consumerism

 The Research Assistant  will spend the majority of his/her time undertaking research (under the direction of the supervisors) and maintaining a database of “best practices” of university policies and programmes – both Canadian and International –  related to ethical consumerism on campus.  The student will also – with assistance from the supervisors – organize small events with invited speakers to raise awareness of and encourage ethical consumption on the CBU campus.  Students from any academic background are encouraged to apply. This position will extend over two semesters.

  • Have an interest in environmental issues and the promotion of ethical consumer choices on university campuses



  • Undertaking research under the guidance of the supervisors regarding “fair trade” practices on university campuses both in Canada and internationally
  • Create and maintain a database of information about university practices and policies with regard to ethical consumerism
  • Planning and organizing on-campus events designed to educate the university community about ethical consumer choices

Hours:  All positions are part-time, hours TBD
