Outdoor & Experiential Education Coordinator (Bilingual)
Known internally as our Program Coordinator

Camp Location
Tim Horton Children’s Camp (THCC) is one of the Foundation’s 7 camps, and is located on 245 acres of oceanfront
property on the Northumberland Strait. The quaint village of Tatamagouche is located 45 minutes north of Truro, and a
scenic 1.5-hour drive from Halifax. The sandy beaches and warm waters of the strait are ideal for outdoor adventures.
Program highlights at THCC include: overnight camping and backpacking, high and low ropes challenge courses,
waterfront activities, kayaking and biking.

You are…

  • experienced at facilitating outdoor excursions for groups of diverse youth within a camp or outdoor recreation/education environment
  • bilingual in English and French – required
  • strong at group facilitation and successfully adapt facilitation style based on individual or group needs
  • certified in, or willing to obtain, National Lifeguard Service (NLS), Wilderness First Responder (WFR), ACCT Level 1 or 2 Challenge Course certification – preferred
  • valid G-Class Driver’s License, or equivalent – preferred
  • able to provide an acceptable criminal background check
  • legally able to work in Canada
  • able to live on-site for an extended period of time and work flexible hours


You will…

  • establish relationships with youth that reflect respect, trust and empathy
  • support the successful execution of camp activities and wilderness trip experiences based on the THCF Youth Leadership Program Framework
  • host and facilitate groups participating in Community Leaders Program
  • support the Program Managers with recruitment, training, performance feedback and general mentorship of program staff
  • model healthy choices and emotional maturity
  • build and sustain relationships with aligned community partners
  • identify, assess and appropriately manage risks and on-site crises in line with THCF’s risk management standards
  • ensure program areas, equipment and supplies are clean and in good repair, fully stocked and organized
