CBU CO-OP – Research Representative, Clean


Student Research Representative required to join our team for summer 2016 to perform research on the feasibility of recycling fishing nets and possibly other fishing gear. The student must be willing to travel to Dartmouth from time to time to meet with Clean staff.

  • student must be an undergraduate or graduate in economics, environmental science, resource management, public policy, or related field.
  • have excellent demonstrated research capabilities
  • strong organizational and teamwork and attention to detail skills

The Research Representative’s primary responsibility will be to perform research related to teh need, feasibility and potential structure of fishing gear re-use and/or recycling program.

The student will be expected to draw on their own knowledge and working with their professor and other Clean staff be responsible for, but not limited to:

conducting a literature review;

identifying organizations in Canada and abroad that are able to recycle recovered fishing gear;

conduct a survey;

research best practices;

conduct interviews;

help map stakeholders;
