The Digital Archives Assistant will work with the Archivist and Digital Archivist to make archival records available for the Canadian public on the Beaton Institute Digital Archives website (www.beatoninstitute.com). The Digital Archives Assistant will describe primary source documents according to national standards and best practices. They will edit and write descriptive metadata and upload digital content for inclusion on the Digital Archives. Improved metadata and digital objects will be added to the records creating a much more robust and informationally rich digital resource. The ultimate goal of the project is to increase access to our cultural heritage using digital technologies as well as provide primary source material for researchers across the country. Publishing thousands of new archival records will allow for greater digital discovery of our shared documentary Canadian heritage.

Preferred Qualifications: Interest in historical methods, research, archival or museum studies.
