35 hr week, Monday-Friday. 9-12. 1-5
$13.50. Per Hr.
She/he must be comfortable/capable working on their own or with a supervisor. A keen sense of history and willingness to learn about the history of the community of Whitney Pier is desirable.
Candidate must be articulate and have a pleasant phone and personal manner, detailed oriented, familiar with data entry (orientation will take place the first week before the Museum opens)
Nothing is to be downloaded into the computer unless it is museum related. We expect personal use of social media to be on the candidate’s own time.
Photographing/scanning artifacts, entering artifact details into database, uploading to provincial site, according to Nova Scotia Museum standards.
Publishing news and information on Facebook page.
Greeting visitors from the community and around the world.
Maintaining the order of the displays: making sure things are returned to their rightful place.
Once a week Windex the glass cases and dust.
There may be other minor duties requested some flexibility may be required.
We are closed paid statuary holidays in July and August.
