Advisory & Leadership Teams

Internally, the president is advised and supported administratively by the President’s Council.  In addition, the President’s Council on Teaching & Learning and the President’s Council on Multicultural Learning are think tank councils with representation from faculty, staff and administration that advise the president and the President’s Council on matters related to teaching and learning, and internationalization and indigenization, respectively.

The president currently has one external advisory group, the Unama’ki Advisory Board provides advice and feedback to the president on the overall direction of the university.  It will also ensure that the university is aware of the community’s needs and priorities.

  • President’s Council

The President’s Council consists of the senior directors and deans and is the highest administrative body for the university.  It provides advice to the president on all administrative matters and through the president it advises the board and senate as appropriate.  It is responsible for the strategic, academic and financial planning of the institution.  It is also responsible for writing and recommending policy to the board and senate as appropriate.  The President’s Council will carry out its work through a series of working teams that report to the full council.
