Week of Welcome 2021

Orientation is all about setting you up for success. Each September, January and May, new and returning CBU students are encouraged to participate in the many sessions and events held by CBU to start your semester off on the right foot.

During Week of Welcome, students can meet faculty, staff and current students, learn about student supports and services, financial aid and find out what campus life is like at CBU!

Orange Out Day!

Volunteer for WOW

Week of Welcome takes place from September 4-11, 2021, and we are so excited to finally welcome you (or welcome you back) to Cape Breton University! During Week of Welcome, students will come together to take part in a variety of activities to celebrate the start of a new school year. We have lots of exciting events planned as we kick off a new semester, but we need your help.

We are looking for volunteers to help us run activities during this fun, action-packed week. As a Week of Welcome Leader, you will be an integral part of creating a fun and welcoming environment on campus as we welcome new and returning students to CBU.

There are lots of benefits to becoming a WOW Leader. Not only will you make new friends and connections across campus, but you will gain experience in events coordination and be able to add your volunteer time to your co-curricular record.

Volunteers must:

  • Be available from Friday, September 3, to Saturday, September 11, 2021
  • Be a second-year student or above
  • Be familiar with the CBU campus
  • Have lots of energy and enjoy meeting new people

Please fill out the following application by August 25, 2021. We will be in touch with you as soon as possible!
