The Boardmore Theatre is kicking off its 47th Season of Plays with lots of laughs as Canada, It’s Complicated hits the stage on September 16 at 7 pm in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. Led by Mary Walsh (This Hour Has 22 Minutes), this traveling comedy show comes to life through some of Canada’s leading comedians, writers and performers, and features sketches and satirical songs that examine the joys, foibles, tragedies, and triumphs of Canada as it is today and into the future.
“I am very pleased to include Canada, It’s Complicated to this year’s Season of Plays,” says Todd Hiscock, Boardmore Theatre Artistic Director. “The comedy show will be a great way to start our year and allow students, faculty, and the general public to ease into their busy schedules laughing.”
This year’s season of plays promises an outstanding line-up of theatre from productions that touch on issues facing teenagers today (Girls like That) to acclaimed productions performed around the world (Marat/Sade), all on stage at the Boardmore Theatre.
Once again, the Boardmore Theatre is pleased to partner with Flavor 19 to offer a Dinner Theatre Package for $75, which includes passes to the full season of plays plus 15% off dinner at Flavor 19 on the night of the performance.
The CBU Boardmore Playhouse box office is open Monday through Friday 1-5 p.m. during the week of the performance and one hour before each show. Tickets for Canada, It’s Complicated are $20 general and $10 students and seniors.
