The CBU Board of Governors’ Search Committee tasked with finding the next President of Cape Breton University is hosting a community town hall session on Monday, September 18 at 7 pm in CS-104 in the Verschuren Centre at Cape Breton University. Members of the community are invited to join committee representatives to share insights and opinions that will be used to help shape the candidate profile for the next President of CBU.
“Cape Breton University is an essential part of the Cape Breton Island community making it so important that we gather information from our community members as we go through the process of finding the next President of our Island’s university. We have already received a great response to our public survey and community feedback. I expect we will see a solid turnout at the town hall session – affirming CBU’s role as a key part of our community,” says Robert Sampson, Chair, CBU Presidential Search Committee.
Working with executive search firm, Odgers Berndtson Canada Inc., the presidential search committee is required to make a candidate recommendation to the Board of Governors no later than January 31, 2018.
Community members who are unable to attend the town hall session are encouraged to complete the survey that is available online by visiting presidentialsearch.cbu.ca. To date, nearly 200 surveys have been completed.
“Community engagement has always been a priority for the search committee and so far, we are pleased with the level of participation. The committee is looking forward to the discussions that will happen during the town hall session,” says Sampson.
