Gourmet insect tasting, liquid nitrogen ice cream, magic shows and more will be on display during Cape Breton University’s (CBU) third annual Mall of Science event being held on Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mayflower Mall.
This interactive event is open to the public, with a purpose of promoting science awareness to youth and showing how science affects our daily lives. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn about the educational and career options available in the broad field of science.
"The Mall of Science, which is part of the larger national event Science Rendezvous, is a fantastic event that brings kids, parents and local scientists together to ignite kids’ curiosity with interactive, kid-friendly science activities. A parent last year summed it up beautifully when she said to me ‘This is great, the kids are learning without even realizing it because they are having so much fun,” says Chauntelle Cormier, Chair, Mall of Science Committee.
The Mall of Science showcases fun and interesting demonstrations in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, geology, math and health. It is a day filled with educational fun for the whole family and each year more and more people learn about the sciences by way of this community-oriented event.
