CBU and CBUSU sign MOA

On Monday, April 15, Cape Breton University (CBU) and the Cape Breton University Students’ Union (CBUSU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the intention of better understanding how each are integral in supporting the other’s mandates.

“This MOA will serve to strengthen the relationship and communication between the University and CBUSU,” says David C. Dingwall, President. “It is important that both the University and the Students’ Union Executive recognize the contributions of each other, and work together for the best interest of the students of CBU.”

Both CBU and the CBUSU agree that the students are the number one stakeholder and that having a formalized agreement secures support and understanding.

“This MOA will provide clarity to incoming SU Executive each year on what responsibilities lie with the University and what responsibilities lie with the SU,” says Parteek (Gunny Brar), SU President. “This agreement will also serve to strengthen other internal collaborations between the University departments, SU Executive, and SU Centres like the Women’s Centre, Pride & Ally Centre, Multicultural Centre, for the continued benefit of students.”
