President of the Cape Breton University Students’ Union Eleanor Sidley, adds, “The Students’ Union takes great pride in recognizing the students that have strived for academic excellence over the past year. We are looking forward to celebrating their successes with them.”
The guest speaker for this year’s Honours Banquet will be Ms. Michelle Lahey, an alumna of CBU and former President of the CBUSU.
Annually, approximately 400 students meet the academic standards to be on the University’s Dean’s List. To be considered for the Dean’s List, students must acquire an average of 80 per cent in all courses, without any failures.
