For the fourth year running, the Cape Breton University Art Gallery is hosting ProletariART: The People’s Art Exhibit. This community exhibition is an opportunity for artists, crafters and all-around-creative types to display their work in a public gallery.
ProletariART is composed of works of art submitted by the general public including everyone from beginners to professional artists. Anyone living in Cape Breton or identifying as a Cape Bretoner is invited to submit one work of art to the exhibit, which will be held from January 30 until February 27. Artists from all regions of Cape Breton Island have participated in ProletariART, and entries have come from as far away as London, England.
“I look forward to seeing new works by artists who have participated in the past as well as meet first time exhibitors. ProletariART is a great opportunity for artists at all levels to share their creative practice with large audiences” says Sara Roth, Education and Outreach Coordinator at the CBU Art Gallery.
To submit a work of art, pick up a submission form at the Cape Breton University Art Gallery or at www.cbu.ca/art-gallery , read the guidelines carefully and have your submission and the form to the gallery by January 19 at 4 p.m.
