Modern Prosperity, a presentation focused on carbon pricing, climate change and clean tech is being held at the Verschuren Centre at Cape Breton University on Tuesday, July 7 at 9 a.m. Organized in partnership with the Ecology Action Centre, the event will see Catherine Abreu, Energy Coordinator, Ecology Action Centre; Jeremey Moorhouse, Senior Analyst, Clean Energy Canada; and Dr. Mark Purdon, Climate Change Policy Expert present on topics that have recently made their way into Federal political dialogue. Following the presentations a panel discussion will be held and moderated by CBU President, Dr. David Wheeler.
“We’re pleased to be hosting what I expect will be a thought-provoking discussion about a topic being discussed across the country,” says Dr. Andrew Swanson, CEO, Verschuren Centre. “Clean tech solutions are at the core of what we do at the Verschuren Centre, making discussions like this very much a priority for us. Given its timeliness, I think this presentation will be of interest to many.”
Involving experts from across Canada, the event is designed to facilitate learning about carbon pricing from the perspective of several jurisdictions and discussion about how climate change action, innovation and prosperity can flourish together in Nova Scotia.
