Viola Desmond’s Canada

Dr. Graham Reynolds is offering a 3-credit history course that focuses on the life and times of Viola Desmond, Canada’s civil rights icon and pioneer Black businesswoman. In addition to regular on-campus classes, the course features the following three live Youtube events, which teachers, students and the general public may take part in:

November 21, “Viola Desmond: A Pioneer Canadian Businesswoman” with Wanda Robson

Graham Reynolds is Professor Emeritus and the Viola Desmond Chair in Social Justice at CBU. He teaches courses in the history of race relations and social studies methodology and is author of Viola Desmond’s Canada: A History of Blacks and Racial Segregation in the Promised Land.
