Artist Talk | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Free admission
Workshop | 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Pre-registration required | Fee: $20
In conjunction with the exhibition, “Shaping the Shore, From Here and Away,” there will be an artist talk with local artist and expert quilter Anne Morrell Robinson (Margaree Valley, NS) who will discuss her own artistic practice as well as the process involved with the artist and community collaboration project. Project contributors include contemporary artist Diane Borsato (Toronto, ON) and members from the Ocean Waves Quilt Society (Cape Breton Island, NS). Light refreshments will be served.
Join Anne Morrell Robinson in a workshop focusing on moving the traditional quilt into the world of art quilts. Bring a project you have started on or some ideas & images and we’ll explore the possibilities of starting with traditional patterns and techniques and exploring some design possibilities that will make your quilt contemporary and unique. No sewing machine required. This workshop will focus on gathering ideas and design work.
To register for the workshop call 902-563-1852 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration fee: $20. Payment is required upon registration. We accept cash, money order, cheque, or credit card.
