The Agri-preneur workshop will take place in SB202
Farmers, beekeepers, food producers, restaurateurs – these are some of the people shaping entrepreneurship in Cape Breton.
The Shannon School of Business has partnered with the Cape Breton Food Hub to host a workshop that aims to collectively solve problems faced by local agri-food entrepreneurs.
Five guest entrepreneurs will have ten minutes to talk about their business in Cape Breton, and about one challenge they face. Their challenge may be business-related, or it may be scientific-based. Participants will have a chance to ask questions to understand the challenge. Then, over a networking lunch participants will discuss the challenges, and potential research opportunities. A prize will be given to the best go-forward opportunity identified.
The objective of this event is two-fold. We want to connect local entrepreneurs with faculty, students and potential researchers, to help them access information they need to solve problems; and we want to provide university students with research opportunities.
Who is invited?
