Jointly run by the Louisbourg Institute, Cape Breton University, and Parks Canada, the Louisbourg Internship Program provides upper-level undergraduate students at Cape Breton University with an opportunity to conduct independent, original research at the Fortress as part of their degree program.
Students can earn between 3 and 12 credits depending on the nature of the research project; in some years – depending on available financial resources – the internship has been a paid position.
Currently, the Department of History and the Department of Communication at CBU are participating in this program. Applications for this program are typically accepted in the first week of classes in September.
