Members of the community are more than welcome to borrow from the Library. You can apply for a CBU Library card at our Circulation Desk. A piece of ID is required.
Books have a general loan period of 3 weeks. Fines for late returns are at a rate of 25¢ per day, per item.
Borrowing policies will vary for CBU Special & Donated Collection items.
Off-campus borrowers can also place Inter-Library Loan requests, but may have a maximum of five active requests at any one time. Please visit Interlibrary Loans to learn more.
The Research Assistance Desk offers library help, user education programs and online searching assistance for the library’s patrons.
During the regular school year, a librarian or library technician is available at the Research Assistance Desk during regular hours.
The CBU Library has records of the Cape Breton Post and The Chronicle Herald on microfilm. Microfilm reels are available on request at the Circulation desk, and my be view using one of our microfilm readers. Printing services are available. Further research may be conducted at the Beaton Institute.
