Preparing for your arrival to Canada and to Nova Scotia

All students traveling from outside of Nova Scotia must complete the Nova Scotia Safe Check-in Form prior to arrival and, if traveling to Canada from another country, students must also complete the ArriveCAN Application. 

Please review the following Government websites so you are fully aware of your responsibilities and their policies and procedures around the Quarantine Act and travelling during COVID-19:

In preparation for your return to Canada, please make sure the following is completed:

  • You have filled out the Quarantine Commitment Form;
  • You have received a Travel Support Letter from Cape Breton University;
  • You have made quarantine arrangements at a CBU designated location (if travelling to Nova Scotia from outside of Canada); 
  • You have arranged medical health insurance with a CBU International Advisor by contacting;
  • You have booked and informed Cape Breton University of your flight arrangements and details by filling out the International Student Pick-Up Form;
  • You have downloaded the ArriveCAN App;
  • You have downloaded the Nova Scotia Safe Check-In Form; and
  • You have a negative test result for COVID-19 (all international travellers must show their airline proof of a negative result from a PCR test taken within 72 hours of their scheduled departure time).
